"The Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel

No surprise, considering that is my favorite song ever. I love this version, without the drums and electric guitars.

Also, I totally want Art's hair. HAIR ENVY. I mean, my hair looks similar on some days, but usually not. And it never looks as awesome as his.

1) Math was almost always my favorite subject in school.

2) I believe that there must be intelligent life somewhere else in the universe besides Earth.

3) I feel short if I'm not wearing shoes with at least two inch heels, even though I'm 5'7".

So...which one's a lie? ;)

Writer's Block: On the Bus

Jam a bunch of people together in a tight space like a bus or the subway and something crazy is bound to happen. What's the most memorable thing you've seen on mass transit?

When I went to New York City in May (2008), I took the Greyhound. It will be the last time I take Greyhound anywhere. Everything was mostly fine until we picked up a lot of people at Philadelphia. They all settled into the back, and about forty minutes later, a petite woman (she probably didn't weigh 100 pounds) came up the bus driver crying. It turns out that some of the guys who had boarded at Philly had pinned her against the seat, groped her repeatedly, and threatened to rape her. The bus driver pulled over on the interstate to yell at the guys. There wasn't a spare seat available, so some woman sitting in the front row gave the other woman her seat. She then marched back there and told them that if any one of them dared to even look at her, she would chew his balls off with her bare teeth. She looked like she would, too. No one messed with her.

Well, this one was pretty recent; it happened last week, in fact. ;)

I was so excited to go to Las Vegas! It's very cold in Ohio this time of year, so I was looking forward to having some sixty degree weather. We learned a few days before we left that it was going to be chillier than expected - around forty degrees each day - but that was still warmer than it was in Ohio, so no biggie.

When we got to the airport, our plane was supposed to leave at 12:45pm. We didn't start boarding until 1:00pm, and we left the airport at around 1:35pm. No biggie, I tell myself. Then the pilot comes on the loudspeaker and tells us that the trip is going to take five hours instead of the estimated four because of strong headwinds. Still no biggie, I tell myself. We'll make it to Las Vegas at around 4:00pm PST instead of 2:18pm. That's okay.

Then, once we're over Denver, the pilot comes on the loudspeaker again. Denver wanted to ground us for an hour because an unexpected snowstorm had struck Las Vegas, and visibility was less than a quarter mile. There were a few problems with this scenario. 1) We didn't have enough fuel to land for an hour and then fly to Vegas, and for some reason we could not be refueled at Denver. 2) The pilots and flight crew, which were delayed earlier, were fast-approaching "illegal time." If we didn't get to Las Vegas soon, they would not be okay to fly. We had to get closer.

So they decide that we're going to fly to Phoenix instead. We can refuel there, be first in the queue, and fly out as soon as the weather clears enough for us.

No biggie. Right? hint - WRONG )

Writer's Block: Set Sail

Spike and Angel, President Roslin and Gaius Baltar, Harry and Hermione—shippers often find pairings that the original author might have overlooked. What coupling of fictional characters would you most like to see?

I love Erik/Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, but so many people in the fandom ship E/C that it's barely non-canon. I also like Christine/Meg; I never really got any vibes until I watched the 2004 movie. I don't know why, but the femme-slash button was triggered!

I feel guilty for shipping it, but when it comes to Dexter, I totally ship Dexter/Rudy(Brian). Yes, I know that they're blood brothers (at least half-siblings), but there's just so much UST between them! It's like watching a relationship unfold, how Rudy/Brian "courts" Dexter throughout the first season. I was dreadfully disappointed that Rudy/Brian didn't survive the first season (he doesn't die in Darkly Dreaming Dexter), but I can see why the writers had to do away with him. YAY FORBIDDEN INCEST SHIP.

When I was into the Harry Potter series, I thought that Harry and Luna would make a good couple. I still think it's a good ship, but I'm not into the series much anymore.
